The 2nd Carol Fletcher Tournament held on the 13th June 2009 at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield
Thank you to all teams, umpires, officials and volunteers who helped at this years tournament.
Winners this year were Sheffield Stormers Netball Club following a closely contested final against Hallam, Stormers were eventual winners taking the match 11:9.
Nottingham Knights and Hi-lites were the teams contesting for 3rd and 4th place - an even match game with the teams tied at the end of the game. extra time followed with Hi-lites winning the match by a single goal
Our aim this year was to raise 1000GBP for Bluebell Wood (charity chosen by Carol's family) - I am please to announce that the actual total raised was 1,130 GBP
Can I say a personal thank you to Pam Hoyle, Sue Collin, Gary & June Holden, Liz Arundale and Katy Rogers for all the work they did on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly - without you all I wouldn't have managed.
Also thank you to all the umpires who gave up their time to support the tournament and to those umpires that stepped in to do perhaps a 'little' more umpiring than they expected.
