League Entry 2010/2011:

As discussed at the recent AGM entry to the winter league is now open to all Teams who participated in the 2009/10 league.

The deadline for existing teams to entry the league is the 31st August 2010.

Any places available after this time will be opened up and offered on a first come first serve basis.

Cost is 242.00GBP + 30.00 deposit - this cost is based on 14 games

Additional Information

1: The league will commence Tuesday 21st September 2010

2: Number of places - The league will consist of 6 Divisions with 8 teams in each; therefore a maximum of 48 teams will be entered into the league 2010/11.

3: Conditions of entry* - In the first instance teams who participated in the Winter League last year (2009/10) will have until the closing date (31st August 2010) to enter. Following this date any places still available will be offered on a first come first served basis to new clubs/teams, details of available places will be placed on the website 2 days after the stated closing date.

Entry to the league will not be accepted until both the entry form and payment is received.

4: League Handbook - The league handbook will be available by the 5th September 2010 (this will be available via the website).

A league meeting will take place on Tuesday 14th September; all teams who enter the league MUST send 1 representative.

5: Umpires are also encouraged to attend the above meeting.

6: Umpires in the championship / division 1 / division 2 must hold a minimum C umpire award qualification. Umpires officiating in these divisions will be asked to produce their umpire qualification card at the beginning of the season (any umpires thereafter will be asked to produce their card when officiating their first game).

Please ensure you read the league book - a number of changes can be seen for the 2009/10 season.

one of which is as follows;

Umpires should not umpire more than 2 games in either the Championship or Division 1 in anyone night.

Results Card - The results cards will be colour coded dependent on Division - please note this is new for this season, so please familiarise yourself with these.

Re-arranged fixtures

Following the recent cancellation of some fixtures due to the weather, please find the re-arranged dates.

Fixtures that were due to be played on the 5th January - will now be played on the 18th May

Fixtures that were due to be played on the 12th January - will now be played on the 25th May


Age Banding

To participate in the Winter League 2009/2010 all players must be over 14 years of age at midnight on 31st August/1st September prior to the commencement of the league playing season unless granted age banding permission.

All players who have been granted age banding permission must have their age banding reference number on their person.

Could you please ensure all accidents/incidents are reported to Rachael Radford (league Co-ordinator) by completing the attached report form. please click here.

Spare forms will also be available from the league Noticeboard which is situated near the courts on a Tuesday Night.

Could you please ensure you use the correct coloured Result card for your division - spares are available from the EIS Reception.

1: If anyone is interested in receiving some umpire mentoring during the winter league, please contact Julie Chant in the first instance to arrange.

2: Could those who are waiting to take their C Award Umpire Test, please contact Rachael Radford asap so we can arrange for your test to take place during the 2009/10 season.

Whilst as a league we do not specify that you should pay umpire's, it should be noted that many volunteers will expect to receive a minimal payment to cover expenses (as a guide we would usually recommend 10GBP per game).
